In 2003, Nespresso launched the Nespresso AAA Sustainable Quality™ Program with the NGO Rainforest Alliance to offer exceptional coffee that can be traced back to the coffee farms, while also protecting the environment and improving the well-being of coffee farmers. The AAA Program is based on the criteria of the Sustainable Agriculture Network (SAN) – internationally recognised independent environmental and social principles – and on a long-standing direct relationship with coffee growers.
The AAA Program has a positive impact on coffee farmers and their communities, helping them to implement sustainable farming practices and guaranteeing them multiple benefits, including an above-market price, training and personalised support from more than 450 dedicated agronomists, as well as easy access to the Rainforest Alliance certification.
The AAA Program also benefits you the consumer, because the coffee is purchased directly from selected producers. So Nespresso knows your coffee, where it comes from and what it will taste like in your cup.
